These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Where in Time (the "Service"), operated at whereintime.ai. By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, you represent that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and accepted these Terms on your behalf.
Authentication is handled by Clerk. You may play a limited free version anonymously without an account. To track your scores, daily streaks, and (if you subscribe) Pro features, you create an account by signing in with email or a supported OAuth provider. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity on your account.
You may delete your account at any time by contacting support@whereintime.ai. Deletion removes your scores, pseudonyms, and profile data; subscription billing must be canceled separately via the Customer Portal.
The Service offers a paid "Pro" tier that unlocks features beyond the free experience. Subscription pricing, billing intervals, and features are described on the pricing page. Payment is processed by Stripe; we do not see or store your card details.
Subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period until you cancel via the Customer Portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period — you keep Pro access until the period ends, and you are not charged again. Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy.

All panoramas, music tracks, copy, and game mechanics on the Service are the property of Where in Time or its licensors. Panoramas are AI-generated reconstructions of historical scenes — they are not photographs or accurate depictions of any specific person, event, or location, and should not be used as historical reference.
You retain ownership of any pseudonym you set; by using it on the Service, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free license to display it on leaderboards and profile pages.
We aim for the Service to be available continuously, but we do not guarantee uptime. The Service may be unavailable due to maintenance, infrastructure issues, or factors outside our control. We are not liable for downtime, lost daily streaks, or other consequences of outages.
The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. The Service is intended for entertainment; historical accuracy of panoramas, dates, and scoring is not guaranteed.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $50, whichever is greater. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits or data.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for violations of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately; sections 5, 7, 8, 10, and 11 survive termination.
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent change. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. For material changes, we will make reasonable effort to notify active users via email or in-product notice.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Harris County, Texas, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.
